About

Trevor Rutherford is composer for video games and film, based in Vancouver, Canada. Holding a degree in music and computer science from the University of Victoria, Trevor combines artistic and technical skillsets.

Recently, Trevor worked on software, audio integration, and additional sound design for Netflix’s Vikings Valhalla mobile game, developed by Emerald City Games (listen here). Outside of games and film, Trevor's work extends to recording, producing, and mixing for a range of musical projects.

Trevor's artistic journey began with classical piano lessons at age four. He quickly developed a passion for music, leading him to take up guitar and trombone, compose for his high school’s concert band, and create musical scores for the film projects of his peers.

In university, Trevor took up jazz piano, developed his ear and understanding of music theory, and volunteered as an administrator for The University of Victoria's Computer Music Course Union. Today Trevor can be found composing, producing for local artists, and volunteering in Vancouver’s live music community.
